Shuoer Tape Pro
The Shuoer Tape Pro has a characteristically V-shaped tuning, a tuning which can sometimes make the Tape Pros sound as if they have been heavily compressed.
This lends these IEMs a very stable and smooth sound with few peaks or troughs across the frequency spectrum, but can also mute the dynamics of the music, producing a sometimes “flat” listening experience.
On the low end of the frequency spectrum, the Shuoer Tape Pro offers a standard filter and a bass boosted filter option. Using the standard filter, these IEMs have a warm and boosted bass response smoothed by the IEM’s natural compression.
Equipped with the bass booster filter, the Shuoer Tape Pro’s low end opens up a bit, becoming more boomy and boosted. At times, this seems at odds with the overall compressed tone of the Tape Pros, but will help bass heads get that extra juice from the low end.
Mids can be a point of contention for some users, with some appreciating the boost in the upper mids, which can at times lend a “honky” quality to vocals, although others appreciate the revealing detail this gives to lead instruments.
For treble, these IEMs offer some decent extension and a lively response, but the inherent compression can take away some of the crisp sparkle from cymbals.
