Thieaudio Legacy 4
Branded by Theiaudio as the “universal IEM,” the Legacy 4 strives to live up to its name by offering an exceptionally well-rounded sound signature that is smooth, precise, and stunning across the entire spectrum.
With a bass response that emphasizes the sub-bass, the bass is lively and powerful, bringing drums and basslines to life. There is a snappy bass decay that lends presence without becoming bloated or muddy.
If there is a weak point in the Legacy 4s, it is somewhere in the mid-bass. Here and into the low mids the Legacy 4, these IEMs don’t seem quite as rich, sometimes coming through a little hollow, especially when contrasted with the power of the sub-bass and the richness of the upper mids.
However, this is made up for by the richly blooming detail offered by the high mids, which renders vocals with power and clarity and brings lead instruments to life in breathtaking detail.
At the high end, the Legacy 4s rarely, if ever, peak into any harshness while still offering plentiful headroom and extension that allows cymbals and other high frequencies plenty of space to breathe. While the treble is not emphasized on these IEMs, it still has plenty of presence.
